We booked two rooms at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis and had an excellent experience. The hotel 's location was perfect. It was close to the baseball stadium, mass transit, Little Italy, China Town, and the Cable Cars. There were many close by dinner and breakfast options if you want to escape the hotel restaurants. The rooms were very clean (although not huge). The best thing about the Marquis was the very accommodating staff. The doormen were personable and courteous. We visited the concierge numerous times for directions, ballpark tickets, and reservations. They actually looked like they were enjoying their job. Housekeeping provided extra towels and the valet retrieved our car immediately. We stayed all over California on this trip but there was no better hotel staff than the one at the Marquis. In addition, the 39th floor lounge (the View) provided a spectacular view of San Francisco and the fitness center was one of the better hotel fitness centers we experienced. The fitness center provided numerous cardio machines along with weight machines and free weights. When visiting San Francisco in the future, we would definitely return to the Marquis

The hotel was very nice, howeve, I was dissapointed that we did not have an breakfast included, for this price I would expect the breakfast as well. However, the room was not cleaned every day, so we did not have fresh towels... I liked the location: perfect, in the middle of everything, within the walking distance and close to everything....

First time in SF, and I booked at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. OH MY GOD! Stay away from that Hotel. Seriously walked into our room, found dog hair on the pillow, dog hair on the floor. I mean I love dogs but I don't like dog hair on my pillows. Complained to the management and got our refund. So here we are in SF Thanksgiving day with no Hotel. My wife saw Mariott earlier and liked it alot. Make a long story short, walked in asked to book a room, I was ready to pay any price honestly. Got a deal at $* a night for 3 nights. As the guy at the front desk was finishing up my reservation, I told him about my crazy experience at Drake Hotel. He hooked me up with a huge corner room with a View. I mean this was the room to be in. The hotel was so clean, staff was amazing, Restaurant downstairs unreal. Concierge..........I can not even say enough about them. The little bar , the lounge upstairs with a view. Seriously this Hotel should go for at least $* a night. Enjoyed every second there!
