I joined my son, daughter-in=-law and two young teen granddaughters for an Easter weekend in SF. The Westin was well-located for all the activities we wanted to do, including riding the cable cars. The rooms were very clean, nicely appointed and we had great views. My only complaint was that our room backed up to the service elevator, and while the noise really didn't interfere with our sleeping, etc., we couldn't figure out what the noise was. It sounded like an airplane overhead, and of course, in SF, you are always concerned about a rumble which might indicate an earthquake. Next time I would ask not to be placed next to the service elevator. Otherwise, I would ** a night, which might be par for SF - I don't know. I did think it was pretty steep, although there is a garage across the street which is a bit cheaper, and the Westin did tell us about it.

A man planning a romantic vacation is not always the best idea. Well this time I somehow managed to pull it off and ended up staying at this hotel. Everyone was great from the valet to the front desk staff. Overall, the hotel is very nice. Comfortable beds and huge plate glass windows with incredible city views. We ate one meal at the restaurant and it was really good. Definitely a fun experience and great central location to Union Square and some of the finer south of market restaurants. I'll definitely be back.

Put us in a room by the elevators, sounded like a train was going by 24/7 Staff blamed it on the hotel being full, (it wasn't) then said it was because we checked in late, (7pm is not late)

Great location to where I needed to be in San Fran for my meetings. Very accomodating people working there. I just needed a place to cleanup and shower the two days I was there. The room was great. Bed was comfy and the place was very clean. The bathroom and entrance to the room however were pretty snug. Almost like an afterthought and it made it tough for getting ready. Other than that the place was great.

This is by far one of my favorite hotels in downtown San Francisco. I've stayed here a few times and never written a review but this time I had brought my husband and decided that the hotel deserved recognition for going out of their way with restaurant recommendations, reservations, great service and just an overall fun San Francisco experience. Be sure to request one of the higher floors at checkin as the city views are amazing!!
