We enjoyed the wonderful view of the city and the Bay Bridge from our floor to ceiling windows in our room, the sitting area near the daylight, the comfy beds, and hospitable lobby. The valet staff are kind and helpful, the concierge is very informed and helpful, and the front desk staff are quick and kind. My father was a third generation hotel owner/manager, and I'm pretty aware of the inner workings of a large hotel. This hotel and staff clearly are doing things right.

Stayed there this past weekend. The hotel is pretty, but that is about it. Rooms were bland..no coffee maker, microwave or fridge. Which is awful due to the fact that the restaurants located around the hotel are closed on the weekends (or closed all together). There is NO GUEST PARKING!!! You either pay $* a night for valet, or $* per night to park in the parking garage across the street. NO VALIDATION EITHER!!! I prepaid for the room, then found a $* charge on my bank card when I arrived home this morning. If your looking for an overpriced, bare hotel without simple every day amenities, then this is the hotel for you. Otherwise, I would recommend a more affordable hotel with guest parking. And let me not forget to mention that housekeeping makes their rounds to ask "What time are you checking out?" It was only 8am when she knocked on our door...check out is at NOON!!

04/22/2009The staff was excellent. we got upgraded o the19th floor. it was very quiet up there. the only downside was the toilet that rocked. they said it would be fixed.

Went for Christmas. Great views of bay and bridge. Wonderful access to everything. Walking distance to all trolleys. Short walk from financial district to union square. Short walk to bart and muni which takes you anywhere - even the airport - faster than driving or taxi. Large comfortable room & beds. Room service food good and quick. Friendly and knowledgeable staff - however, they recommended a $125 per meal /per person restraunt (AQUA)without checking to see if it was in our budget - we were quite surprised when we got there. There were other very good more reasonable places in the area (try Tadisch).

I thought the hotel was really great,room was much larger than I'm used to and very nice. My wife loved the beds.The front desk personel were friendly and helpful. The location was close to public transportation.Will stay at the Le Meridien on my next visit.
