Was pleasantly surprised for the price.. The room was small, clean and the bathroom was relatively new. Furniture could use some upgrading. Noise from Lombard Street in the morning, so try to get a room in the rear. Just blocks from Chestnut Street with great restaurants and shops. Parking is very tight, leave the huge SUV at home. Will stay again.

We spent a four day vacation here with our two younger boys. For the most part, this hotel fit our needs. The parking lot was a bit small (might have difficulty parking your SUV here) as were the rooms (a bit cramped for two adults and two kids), but it was fine considering we spent most of our time sightseeing. The price was low compared to other hotels in the area. The room was clean and had all the basic ammenities. The bathroom seemed newly redone, as it had newly tiled floors and a granite shower/tub surround. Funny thing, the shower was the highlight of the room. Great water pressure and nice shower head! There were just two negative things...One side of the room seemed to be on a slant. The dresser drawers fell open easily and we had to watch out for things sliding off the table. It wasn't a huge deal though. The second thing, the exterior of the hotel was a bit dirty and run down. The remodel they mentioned definitely did not affect the exterior. This hotel is located within a block or two of several nice restaurants, a Walgreens Drugstore, and within a mile or so of the Wharf. We walked from our hotel to the Wharf, but there are bus lines close by. Overall, we had a good experience. I would recommend this hotel for the traveller who wants a basic room in a good location.

  • Good location

Good location, 3 floors no elevator, clean room, tight parking, they have 29 rooms and 23 parking spaces, friendly services, would recommend staying here.

I'm low maintainance so if you're like me, a hotel is where you store your clothes and sleep when you're not out visiting friends and seeing the sights. The room was clean and about the size of my daughter's bedroom. There's a TV, coffee pot, iron, hair dryer, microwave and mini-fridge (nice.) Staff didn't say much but they were cordial. There are 22 parking spaces (two handicapped.) I had no trouble getting a space when I needed it but sometimes a local pizza parlor will park several of their delivery cars there during business hours for pick-ups. No coffee service at front desk like some others I saw on Lombard. You can hear some noise through the wall facing the parking lot but again, mine was closest to the street. If you're a light sleeper, book a room further away. Honestly, it's a hotel room. If you're older, want to entertain, or have mobility issues, spend your money somewhere else. I had zero problems with anything and you can't beat the price.

This hotel was comfortable, quiet, and located in a vibrant neighborhood with easy access, on foot or by bus or car, to all the highlights of the city, as well as a short drive to the Golden Gate bridge and beautiful beaches and trails of the Marin Headlands, beyond. Rooms were well equipped with everything we needed to stay a full week - refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, iron and ironing board. Good cable tv and in-room wireless internet were also very much enjoyed. Lots of shopping and food choices all around. Parking was a major premium, and available on a first come, first served basis - we never had trouble snagging a spot. Front desk was very friendly and pleasant to interact with, and housekeeping was thorough. Fantastic deal for the price. Would definitely stay here again.
