  I found the buena vista motor inn not very clean and extremely run down. our room was awful. i would not stay there again.

  The hotel has a good location -- about a 30 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf area or a $10 cab ride. Bus service is also available. Check in and out was quick. Limited free parking in a garage next to hotel. Room size was good with 2 queen beds. Nice sun room and patio area on 2nd floor. Breakfast was minimal (donuts, juice, coffee,apples, bananas) and in a very small area in the lobby. The hotel is in need of general maintenance and updating. But, it is kept clean and neat. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a good value for the price and we would stay here again.

  Good location for us, walking distance to our event in Ghirardelli Square & free parking was nice. But rooms are fairly shabby (but clean, I will say that). They had trouble finding our reservation, had put us down for the wrong day (I had the correct day on my receipt, so it was their error), so I think that's why the room we got wasn't exactly what we ordered. Had reserved 2 queen beds, but got 2 doubles. Eat breakfast at Cafe Le at Chestnut & Van Ness---walking distance, great prices & yummy!
