The hotel is very small, old, and not taken care of. The elevator smelled horrible and shook. Our room was smaller than my bedroom at home and dirty. The carpet was dirty and worn. The bathroom was not great either. You could hear everything through the thin walls. There was a couple fighting a few rooms over from ours and people were coming in/leaving at all hours of the night/early morning. Our door didn't close unless you put your full body weight on it. Also, they charge $* per night for valet parking which is not included in the room rate. I asked for an additional pillow and blanket and was told that they had just enough for each room, no extras. The breakfast included was small and dismal looking [fruit, cereal, bagels, coffee, and juice]. The staff was very helpful and friendly, though. I would not ever stay there again. It's worth it to spend a little more money and feel comfortable and safe.

We stayed here for 3 days and it was really good for the money we've paid for it. It is a little bit old fashioned and the room was not that big, but it was cleaned every day and the bathroom was very large and clean. The breakfast was as you can expect in a motel, not much choice but nice bread and orange juice and everything was immediately refilled when it was empty. The location was very nice, union square was a two minute walk. So as a conclusion we can say that it was reallly good for the money and we would stay again.

I didn't expect much from this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was newly renovated. Each room has its own bathroom, A/C, TV, and free internet access. The rooms are about 16 square meters (very small)...but that's all I needed; small, functional, clean, and modernly furnished room.

Don't let the location fool you: this hotel, while on the edge of Union Square, is essentially in the Tenderloin. Yes, the Hilton is less than a block a way; however like many other parts of San Francisco good neighborhoods and bad neighborhoods are typically right next to each other. The staff is friendly and the facilities are reasonably clean. However, if you are not used to a gritty city experience - don't book your stay here. However, if you have some street smarts, aren't scared of gritty areas, and you are on a budget - this may be the hotel for you.

No frills, small room. For the price it was very nice. The bed was comfortable. New linens each day. The employees treated me very well, the bed and bathroom were clean. Quiet room. Breakfast was fine. If you are on a limited budget this is a great find!
